ChristopherTheOne "While I believe the turbine and compressor wheels used are all the same sizes, respectively, the aspect ratio of the exhaust housings were smaller on the automatic cars. This provided quicker spool up as compared to the manual cars' turbos, presumably to take advantage of the different cam timings in the automatic." Specialty-Z "Christopher is correct, The stick A/R is .63 and auto is .54 this is the exhaust or turbine housing. The intake or compressor A/R is .48 on both stick and Auto. This will let the turbos spool slightly quicker, But will flaten out sooner on top." Read 'Em & Weep. [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=774464 ]
